Oceanside Public Library - Homework Helpers & Book Buddies PSA

Does your child need help with homework or reading? The Oceanside Public Library offers free programs and services to help your child succeed in school. The Library’s Homework Helpers program offers homework assistance provided by volunteers for students in grades kindergarten through 8th. Homework Helpers is offered at the Mission Branch Library on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Civic Center Library from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Book Buddies pairs teen volunteers with children to help them with their literacy skills and to develop a life-long love of reading. Book Buddies is available at the Civic Center Library on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and at the Mission Branch Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. No advance registration or sign-up is required for either of these free programs, which run during the school year. Students with an Oceanside Public Library card also have free access to computers in the Library, and online homework help resources through the Library’s website. The Library is always looking for volunteers to help with these programs. If you are interested in volunteering as a Homework Helper, please call Cheri Noel, Volunteer Coordinator, at 760-435-5560.
