Do you want to work in the field of Media Production? Do you love Studio Work and Editing? Are you an aspiring Filmmaker, Videographer, or Journalist?

The Art of Storytelling: KOCT Career Ready Program is designed to give skilled students in college and high school media courses a chance to further their learning in a real-world production environment. Students selected for the program will have the opportunity to learn from the award winning Team KOCT, as well as accomplished industry professional mentors throughout the program. They will be expected to use industry-standard equipment and techniques. Students will have the opportunity to hone their storytelling skills and each student will leave the program with a certificate of completion and a personal highlight reel (video) for their portfolio.

The Art of Storytelling: KOCT Career Ready Program is structured to mirror the academic school year. The program will offer three cohorts/groups a year. In the Summer, Winter and finally one in the Spring. Each cohort will have up to 12 students and it will last for 8 weeks. Students will meet two times a week for 4 hours each day. The students will obtain hands-on learning experiences, including Storytelling, Film Directing, Video Directing, Producing, Editing & Post-Production, Camera Operating, Audio Technician, Floor Directing, Teleprompter Operator, Lighting, Production Assistant, & Marketing/Social Media. This provides decades of experience and much-needed networking opportunities for students preparing to start their technical careers.

● Who is eligible? KOCT works with local Universities and Colleges (Cal State San Marcos, Palomar College, Mira Costa College, San Diego State, and more), as well as local High Schools to provide internships and hands-on training.

● Students will work & learn in the KOCT Studio and out In the Field. Closely mentored in our state-of-the-art Green Screen SoundStage & CamCast/PodCast Studio, as well as hands-on experience in the KOCT Mobile Live Stream Truck to create quality productions. KOCT produces quality content on many platforms that air on COX CHANNEL 18 & 19 as well as globally on KOCT.org
