KOCT – North County’s Channel received great honors this past week at the Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) Award Ceremony.
The Ceremony was held during the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) West Region Conference which featured other Public Education Government (PEG) access stations from Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico.
The conference held education workshops, discussed the future of community media, displayed the latest in video equipment and provided media resource networking opportunities.   Station Manager, Jake Rush attended the conference and award ceremony to accept six awards on behalf of KOCT :

  • 1st in Educational Access: California State University, San Marcos - Environmental Leadership Academy Program – Produced by Kellie Davis and Jake Rush
  •  Finalist in Educational Access: Oceanside Unified School District’s Youth Success Week Opening Event - Produced by Angela Miranda and Toby Maysey
  • Finalist in Educational Access: Joe and Mary Mottino YMCA Promotional Video – Produced by Jake Rush and the Joe and Mary Mottino YMCA
  • 1st in Public Service Announcement: Oceanside is a Zero Waste City – City of Oceanside’s Oil Recycling Program – Produced by Jake Rush, Colleen Foster, and the City of Oceanside Solid Waste and Recycling Program
  • Finalist in Public Service Announcement: ‘Wanted’ Oceanside's Boards, Commissions, and Committees – Produced by Angela Miranda and Kellie Davis
  • 1st in Informational – Lifestyle: Born and Brewed in Oceanside – Produced by Angela Wong
