Journalist Roundtable “LIVE”
On Your Community Channel

Tune to KOCT - Channel 18, Thursday, February 4th at 6pm to view the new season of Journalist Roundtable.

Our first guest will be California State Assemblyman Rock Chavez (District 76). We will ask Chavez about this year’s budget, the state of California politics, and about his run for a United States Senate seat.

Our second guest will be former San Diego City Councilmember Carl DeMaio. He and former San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed are proposing a Pension Reform Initiative for the November 2016 ballot. His goal is to give voters the final say on compensation and pension benefits for state and local government employees.

Our third guest will be Jose Aponte, the Library Director for San Diego County.  We will ask Jose about the new partnership with the Regional Task Force on the Homeless in which the County Library is entering. We will also discuss why our libraries have a unique perspective on the homeless; as-well-as, valuable services the library often provides that can help the homeless find jobs and housing.

Our final guest will be Oceanside Councilmember Ester Sanchez. She will discuss the tragic death of a young bicyclist that occurred on South Coast Highway in October 2015. She will also discuss the changes that are on the horizon for Coast Highway in an effort to make the street safer for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists.

Journalist Roundtable is hosted by Kent Davy, former Editor for the North County Times, Journalist Alison St. John, North County Reporter for KPBS, and Columnist Logan Jenkins from the San Diego Union-Tribune.  Viewers in Oceanside can watch via Cox Cable on KOCT’s Channel 18 and the program can be seen county-wide on AT&T’s U-Verse service (Channel 99).

The program can be viewed on Channel 18 Cox Cable in Oceanside as well as AT&T and U-Verse Ch 99 county-wide. Stream us live on http://www.koct.org and on your smart phone or tablet by clicking here.  Stay in tune with your community by tuning into KOCT-Your Community Channels!
